PURPOSE:To easily recognize the wear quantity of a pad which is pressed against a brake disk, by grasping the wear quantity by observing visually through an observation hole a motion of an indicator moving along a guide as a pad is worn. CONSTITUTION:By a pressure force of a friction plate 10A, a damping force works on a brake disk 1, and the friction plate 10A is worn gradually. A pad 10 is always pressed against a disk plate 1A side at the time of brake by a piston 11, therefore, by wear of the friction plate 10A, an indicator member 19, namely, an indicator plate 20 moves by a wear quantity. On the other hand, a guide 2 is fixed to an immobile cylinder body 1, therefore, by a shift quantity of a mark and a guide 23, the wear quantity can be recognized. The indicator plate 20 is placed in the vicinity of an observation hole 22, therefore, by inspecting through the observation hole 22, the wear quantity of the friction plate 10A can easily be known.
