PURPOSE:To realize sharp, high-quality recording on a general-purpose recording paper like high-grade commercial recording paper by providing a heating element for heating the recording surface of a recording medium before printing on the recording medium and a heating element for heating the recording medium and a heating element for heating the recording surface or non-recording surface of the recording medium after printing. CONSTITUTION:A heating element 4 for heating the recording surface of a recording medium 5 used is for instance, an aluminum hollow cylinder with a sheet-like sheathed heater formed around it. In the meantime, a heating element 7a which heats the recording surface of a recording medium 5 after printing on the recording medium is composed of a halogen lamp 9 providing on the recording medium is composed of a halogen lamp 9 provided near the recording medium and a reflector 10 for transmitting a radiant heat from the halogen lamp to the recording medium 5 effectively. The heating condition of the recording medium 5 is detected by temperature sensors 8a, 8b located in the neighborhood of the recording medium, and in turn, the operation of heating elements 4, 7a is controlled by a temperature control circuit so that the temperature of the recording medium 5 may be almost equivalent to a set value. In addition, the set temperature can be freely controlled by a user in accordance with paper quality. |
