PURPOSE:To obtain a corrosion resistant Cu alloy hardly causing tarnish in the air and maintaining the color tone close to a fine gold color for a long period by providing a composition contg. prescribed amounts of Al, Ni, Fe, Mn, Ti and Co and/or B and by forming a practically single alpha-phase structure. CONSTITUTION:A Cu alloy consisting of, by weight, 5-9% Al, 0.5-4% Ni, 0.5-4% Fe, 0.1-3% Mn, 0.001-1% Ti, 0.001-1% Co and/or 0.001-0.1% B and the balance Cu with inevitable impurities is heat treated by quenching from 800-1,000 deg.C after casting, hot working or cold working to form a practically single alpha-phase structure. The resulting Cu alloy has superior corrosion resistance especially in seawater, high strength and superior cold formability as well as above-mentioned characteristics.
