摘要 PURPOSE:To manufacture an ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene pipe whose melt viscosity is high, wear resistance and shock resistance are excellent and the coefficient of friction is small, by a method wherein a laminated sheet of a base material and ultra-high-molecular- weight polyethylene is spirally wound round the surface of a holding member forming a cylindrical state by turning the ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene inside, the base material is put upon a joint of the laminated sheet through an adhesive agent and the laminated sheet and base material are bonded together. CONSTITUTION:Ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene includes a polyethylene monopolymer, ethylene and a small quantity of alpha-olefin, for example, a copolymer with propylene or butene-1 or hexane-1, it is desirable as the same is superior in wear resistance and shock resistance due to a matter that intrinsic viscosity in a decalin solution of 135 deg.C is more than 8. As the base material, the same is selected out of groups composing of cloth, a metallic foil, paper and a net. A sheet obtained by laminating the foregoing base material and ultra-high- molecular-weight polyethylene is spirally wound round the surface of a holding member forming a cylindrical state by turning the ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene inside, the base material is stuck to a joint of said laminated sheet through the adhesive agent so that the same is overlapped with the joint and fixed through bonding. Then the cylindrical holding member on the inside is pulled off and a pipe which has turned the ultra-high- molecular-weight polyethylene inside is produced.
