CROSSLINKABLE ELASTOMERIC COMPOSITIONS

Polymeric compositions which may be readily cross-linked at temperatures above about 200 DEG C comprise an elastomeric polymer possessing olefinic unsaturation and an effective amount of a benzocyclobutene derivative of the general formula where "X" is selected from the group consisting of and -(R-)- where "R" is an alkylene group of 1 to 10 carbon atoms. Cured compositions are also claimed.
