PURPOSE:To prevent the formation of microgrit and to considerably improve hiding power by using a polyolefin resin composition consisting of polyolefin resin and titanium dioxide surface-treated with an org. aluminum compound. CONSTITUTION:At least one side of a paper or synthetic paper substrate is coated with the film of a polyolefin resin composition contg. titanium dioxide by melt extrusion to obtain a photographic support. At this time, titanium dioxide surface-treated with an org. aluminum compound is used as the titanium dioxide in the polyolefin resin composition. Monoacetylacetonate aluminum bisethylacetoacetate or trisacetylacetonate aluminum is especially suitable for use as the org. aluminum compound as a surface treating agent. The preferred amount of the org. aluminum compound used is 0.02-50wt%, especially 0.2-1.5wt% of the amount of titanium dioxide to be surface-treated. |
