PURPOSE:To output normally image information of size B5 sent from a computer from a facsimile equipment set with a paper sheet of A4 size by sending the image information stored in an image memory via a common processing section and a communication processing section to the facsimile equipment and outputting the image information while applying longitudinal/lateral conversion. CONSTITUTION:Two kinds of information as size information 11 in image information from a computer 1 and information 71 of a set paper size width from a facsimile equipment 7 are discriminated by steps 21, 22 and 23. When the information 71 of setting paper width is a B4 size, the facsimile equipment outputs image information of any paper width such as A4, A5 and B5 sizes. However, when the A4 size is set, the image information 41 of B5 size is rotated 42 for the longitudinal/lateral size in an image memory 5 and stored in the memory so that the information is located at the center of an A4 size area 44 in the image memory in the expanding direction 43. The image information expanded by an expansion/contraction compressor 4 is compressed in the direction of compression 61 and written in the buffer memory 7. The information is outputted in the facsimile equipment 7 in the output direction 71 via a communication processing section 2.
