PURPOSE:To reduce the height of a projection by reducing force of tangential direction of a burnishing head, applying force of vertical direction, and pushing the projection on the surface of a magnetic disk medium in a substrate. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic disk medium 1 is mounted on a spindle 2 using a clamp 3 and rotated. A burnishing head 4 attached to a carriage 5 on the magnetic disk medium is floated at the height at which floating test is to be made, and moved on the surface of the magnetic disk medium by a stepping motor 7. A sensor 8 for detecting projection is attached to the burnishing head and connected to a projection detecting circuit 9. Further, a vibrator 10 is also attached, and impact is applied to the burnishing head by vibration pulse generated by the vibrator 11. Thus, the height of floating is reduced, and the projection is pushed to the face of an aluminum substrate. |
