PURPOSE:To join a magnetic head core for reproducing and a magnetic head core for erasing firmly without generating a void and reduce trouble of peeling at the time of working when joining the two head cores in series by forming glass films on the surface of I core devoid of a winding window, bringing the faces into contact with each other and diffusion joining by solid phase reaction. CONSTITUTION:Glass films 7 are formed to thickness of about 20mum on opposite faces (joining faces) of I cores 1a, 2a devoid of winding windows 1e, 2e. The faces are brought into contact with each other, and heat treated for 4hr at about 1,050 deg.C applying pressing force F. Proper temperature for heat treating is in the range of 850-1,300 deg.C. After joining 1a and 2a, the side that forms gap parts 1c, 2c of C cores 1b, 2b made of magnetic ferrite and provided with winding windows 1e, 2e is butted against 1a, 2a and joined filling with glass.
