PURPOSE:To smoothly travel a slider by providing an air diffusing hole at a screw for mounting an upper cover on a rail, and increasing air diffusing quantity without increasing the size of the rail. CONSTITUTION:A slider 12 is levitated by air to travel by the thrust of a linear motor 14 on a rail 1. An air diffusing hole is formed at a screw 6 for fixing an upper cover 4 on the rail 1. The air is diffused from an air diffusing hole 8 and the air diffusing hole of the screw 6 to sufficiently obtain the levitating force of the slider 12.
