PURPOSE:To reduce the select shock, by providing in a reverse range pressure circuit for an input shaft side friction element a sequence valve adapted to open the circuit after an output shaft side friction element is operated. CONSTITUTION:A sequence valve 8 is provided in a reverse range pressure circuit 7 for a reverse clutch 2. The sequence valve 8 includes a spool 8a elastically supported by a spring 8b as shown by the upper half condition. The spool 8a is adapted to be moved by an increase in pressure in a chamber 8c as shown by the lower half condition. The chamber 8c is connected through a circuit 9 to a reverse range pressure circuit 6 for a low reverse brake 3, so as to operate the sequence valve 8 in response to the operational condition of the low reverse brake 3. When the reverse clutch 2 is communicated with a drain port 8d under the upper half condition, the sequence valve 8 is made inoperative. When the circuit 7 is opened under the lower half condition, the sequence valve 8 operates to make the reverse clutch 2 operable by a reverse range pressure PR. |
