PURPOSE:To obtain the titled fiber useful s socks, etc., by applying e.g. a solution containing a redox metal complex, etc., and a surfactant to a swollen gel of wet-spun acrylic synthetic fiber after drawing and water-washing process, drying and densifying the fiber and heat-treating the product. CONSTITUTION:An acrylic synthetic fiber (preferably copolymer of >=80wt% acrylonitrile and >=20wt% methyl acrylate and sodium methacryl-sulfonate, etc.) is wet-spun in a solvent (preferably DMF, etc.) and drawn and washed with water to obtain swollen gel of the fiber, which is applied with a solution, dispersion or emulsion containing (A) one or more kinds of metal complex having oxidation-reduction capability (preferably iron phthalocyanin tetracarboxylic acid, etc.),its derivative or polymeric metal complex and (B) a surfactant (preferably laurylamide ethyldimethylamine sulfate, etc.). The fiber coated with the solution, etc., is heat-treated to obtain the objective fiber. |
