PURPOSE:To shorten an average time required for automatic recalling by deciding whether a called subscriber is speaking or in a no-response state, in case of no response, extending the interval of the automatic recalling longer than that in speaking. CONSTITUTION:After the passage of a prescribed time from the sending of a dial pulse, a network control device 30 detects a ring back tone or busy tone. When the busy tone is detected, the interval A of the automatic recalling is set up in a timer. When the ring back tone is detected, no response from the terminating side is decided and the interval B of the automatic recalling is set up. the intervals A, B are set up so that A<B is formed. In case of speaking having high probability of response from the terminating side, the interval of calling is set up to a short value, so that the average time required for recalling can be shortened.
