PURPOSE:To improve recording ability and erasing ability by constituting such that three core base parts are made into one body so as to serially arrange a recording and reproducing head and an erasure head. CONSTITUTION:The 1st and 2nd core halves 53 and 54, which are coated with a magnetic film 60 with a highly saturated flux density on a side surface facing a magnetic gap, are jointed. The 1st head element 51 where a recording and reproducing magnetic gap 64 is formed the other surface of the 2nd core half 54 and the 3rd core half 66 are jointed. Inbetween the 2nd head element part 52 is integrally formed where an erasure magnetic gap 70 is formed. A magnetic head is coated with the magnetic films 60, 63, 73, and 76 with highly saturated flux density on the surface facing magnetic gaps 64 and 70, and the 1st and 3rd half base parts 59 and 75 are made of ferrite with a high magnetic permeability, while the 2nd common core base 62 is made of nonmagnetic materials. The magnetic thin film material 76 is coated with alloy having a higher saturated flux density than that of ferrite by deposition.
