PURPOSE:To eliminate an SG processing program and SG operation by providing a means which initialize a system with minimum equipment constitution, a means which selects a functional option on a menu picture, and a means which generates system constitution automatically by detecting the equipment constitution of the system. CONSTITUTION:Peripheral equipment has only necessary irreducible condition or essential functions and when the power source of a basic processor is turned on, an initializing processing mechanism 3 starts up the system. When the power source of peripheral equipment such as a display and a printer is turned on, an equipment constitution detecting mechanism 2 detects automatically equipment connected to the system and performs a process for determining system equipment constitution. Then when an operator selects a functional option display on the display screen on a menu basis, a functional option selecting mechanism 1 performs the process. A control information residence mechanism 1 sets system control information and a program file of the optional function in a residence area of a memory.
