PURPOSE:To align the center of a suspended load with the center of a suspender by detecting the center position of the suspended load necessary for suspending operation, calculating its difference from the center of the crane suspender, and moving a crane moving car for correction. CONSTITUTION:A lateral running car 2 runs laterally on the running car 1 of a ceiling crane. The suspender is suspended from the car 2. A linear array camera and lighting equipment are fitted to the car 2. Reflected light from the suspended load 4 is picked up and the center position of the suspended load 4 is detected from the image pickup signal. When the center position of the suspended load 4 is known, the crane moving car is moved for correction because the distance between the linear array camera and the center position of the suspender 3 is fixed and already known. Consequently, the center of the suspended load 4 is aligned with the center of the suspender 3.
