PURPOSE:To obtain an electrophotographic sensitive body having superior photosensitive characteristics in the wide wavelength region of from the visible light to the near infrared rays by forming a photosensitive layer containing a specified indolenine compound. CONSTITUTION:The photosensitive layer contains one of the indolenine compounds represented by formula (1) in which Y is H or halogen; R is a group of formula (2); l is 0 or 1; each of m and n is independently 1 or 2; R<1> is 1-4 C alkyl; A is one of groups of formula (3); B is H or the like; and X is an anion. Said indolenine compound is embodied by formula (1) in which Y is H, R is -CH2OCH3, A is a group of formula (4), and X<-> is ClO4. |
