PURPOSE:To concentrate and to prepare a large amt. of heavy water quickly and effectively utilizing centrifugal force and osmotic effect by revolving a vessel contg. salt soln., in a central section of the vessel separated with semipermeable membrane, contg. also feed water in an external section of the vessel, at high speed of revolution and at a specified temp. CONSTITUTION:A vessel 10 having a porous internal cylinder 18 with a center at a center of revolution of a revolving base 14 revolving at the center of a supporting base 12 and a bag of semipermeable membrane 16 fitted to the inside surface of the internal cylinder, in the inside forming thus a central section A and an external section B, is provided on the revolving base 14, and a cooling and circulating coil 22 connected to a cooling device 20 is arranged to the outside area B of the internal cylinder in such a construction that the coil does not contact with the wall of the internal cylinder and the wall of the inside wall of the vessel. Then, appropriate salt soln. is charged to the central section A and feed water such as natural water is charged to the external section B, and coolant is circulated through the cooling and circulating coil 22. Thus, the revolving base 14 is revolved at high speed while controlling the temp. to <=the freezing point of heavy water and to >=the freezing point of light water.
