<p>PURPOSE:To eliminate an oil cellar by pumping up a coolant using a screw pump to a coolant recovery tank on the ground from a pit into which the coolant supplied on the surface of a rolling mill roll drops. CONSTITUTION:A coolant 50 jetted and supplied onto the surface of a roll of a rolling mill 12 from a nozzle 10 drops into a pit 14 set under the mill 12. The coolant 50 collected in the bottom 48 of the pit 14 is pumped up by a screw pump 30 whose lower end is positioned in the pit 14 to a chute 32. Then, the coolant 50 is flowed down to a coolant recovery tank 18 through a pipe line 34 and the coolant 50 is also supplied to the nozzle 10 through ordinary devices, that is, a filter 22 and a storage tank 24, etc. using a supply pump 26. The shape and structure of a casing 40 of the above pump 30 are desirable to be cylindrical and a divided structure, respectively. By this constitution, the roll coolant device without an oil cellar is obtained.</p> |
