PURPOSE:To prevent malfunction in detection due to breaking of a wire by providing a ball joint integral with an abrasion detector for sensing the internal abrasion of a ball joint, a sender for receiving an output of the detector and outputting an electric wave signal and a power source for the detector and the sender. CONSTITUTION:An abrasion compensating bearing 8 is locked in a socket 2, a shut-off plate 10 made of a non-magnetic material is mounted in the socket and the head portion 5 of a stud is pressed to a socket opening 6 by a push-up ring 16 made of an elastic material. A spring holding member 19 is projected on an abrasion compensating bearing 8, and a spring 18 provided with a magnetic holding member 17 having a permanent magnet 11 stuck to the forward end thereof is mounted on the spring holding member 19. A projection 20 for bending the spring 18 is disposed in the interior of the shut-off plate 10, and a magnetic force sensing device 12, a comparator, a sender 36, an antenna 35 and a battery 29 are installed outside the shut-off plate. Accordingly, different frequencies are output from the sender 36 at the time of normal condition and internal abrasion, so that malfunction in detection due to breaking of a wire in a state of internal abrasion can be prevented.
