PURPOSE:To prevent belt end separation in a heavy duty radial tire for buses, by forming those of stacked belt cord layers which have cords arrayed ascending rightward and leftward toward the footing side of the tread of the tire, so that they have one half widths asymmetrical with respect to the equator. CONSTITUTION:A second layer of main base layers 1 has cords which are arrayed ascending rightward while a third layer thereof has cords which are ascending leftward. One half width wh of right half area of the second layer with respect to a plane (p) including the equator and one half width wh of left half area of the third layer are selected to be greater than those of the adjacent first and fourth layers. With this arrangement, it is possible to prevent belt end separation and to enhance the side force durability.
