PURPOSE:To inexpensively perform superposed recording with high precision by providing the second sensor, which generates a reference signal of the printing operation, in a position, where rotation of a drum is stabilized, in the succeeding stage of the first sensor which generates a reference signal of feed/eject of a recording paper. CONSTITUTION:The first sensor 10a is provided near the position where the recording paper is gripped of a drum 2, and the second sensor 10b is provided in the position, where rotation of the drum 2 is stabilized, in the succeeding stage of the sensor 10a. The sensor 10a detects the home position of the drum 2 and outputs the reference signal with this home position as the origin to stop the drum 2. When the recording paper is fixed to the drum 2 and the drum 2 is started, the sensor 10b is turned on to output the reference signal of the printing operation, and an ink is transferred signal of the printing operation, and an ink is transferred onto the recording paper through a control part 11, a thermal head 3, an ink donor film 6, etc. The control part 11 controls the rotation of the drum 2 on basis of the reference signal of the sensor 10a to match the start of the second color to that of the first color and the second color is printed, thus performing overrecording inexpensively with a high precision.
