AUTOMATIC TRANSVERSAL FILTER

PURPOSE:To prevent the effect on other taps from being extended by obtaining a frequency characteristic requested to a transversal filter, and applying Fourier series expansion to control the weighting of the transversal filter. CONSTITUTION:A frequency characteristic having distortion is detected by a frequency characteristic detector 11 and a conversion circuit 12 obtains the frequency characteristic requested to the transversal filter 5 based on the result of detection. A high speed Fourier transformation device 13 applies high speed Fourier transformation (FFT) to the frequency characteristic by a period of 1/T and the coefficient of Fourier series expansion obtained in this way controls the weighting of the transfersal filter directly. Thus, the interference corresponding to a tap is cancelled completely.
