Electric contact and process for producing it

An electric contact for switches, relays, voltage regulators or the like is produced with a composite body of a contact area of silver, palladium or an alloy thereof and a base area of copper or an alloy thereof as carrier for the contact area. The contact has a central passage, which extends through the contact area and the base area, and the thickness of the contact area at the periphery of the passage is greater than in the other areas. Furthermore, a process for producing such a contact is described.
