The invention relates to an electrically insulated rail connection for rail vehicles, the rail ends to be interconnected being connected via an insulating layer. In order that a rail connection which is strong in terms of sturdiness and also a prefabrication of the actual insulation becomes possible, the connection consists according to the invention of two welding ends which are connected adhesively to one another at their end faces and at the side by an insulation layer. The welding ends thus joined can be joined in a manufacturing operation and welded on site.
