In a cutting machine, such as a joint-cutting machine etc., with a chassis provided with front and rear support rollers (15, 16) and a rocker (4) which is pivotable about a horizontal axis, can be actuated by means of a spindle drive (22) and has a cutting unit with a grinding disc (1) received on a driven shaft (3), it is possible to achieve a great working depth with a comparatively small change in the inclination of the rocker (4) as well as a simple and light construction by the rocker (4) being mounted in the region of the rear end of a section (14a), projecting backwards beyond the rear support rollers (16), of a chassis frame (14) received on the support rollers (15, 16), and being connected by the spindle drive (22) to the section of the chassis frame (14) delimited by the front and rear support rollers (15, 16). <IMAGE>
