A package for a product consisting of a plurality of units which, together with said product, results in a compact transporting unit, even without a pallet or the like, is formed by a container (1) of flexible material. Said container has a bottom part (3) forming a basic stacking surface, side walls (2a, 2b, 2c) which can be folded down, and a lid part (4) and has carrying straps (14) fitted with hanging loops (17). The lid part (4) is expediently of hood-shaped construction in such a way that it overlaps edge regions of the side walls (2a, 2b, 2c) with peripheral parts (7) in the closed state. The bottom part (3) or at least one layer thereof is advantageously of trough-shaped construction. <IMAGE>
