In the case of a numerically controlled electromechanical precision drive system, a multiplicity of low-current servo-motor units are arranged in the form of a circle around the output-drive shaft or thrust spindle of a central gearwheel, in such a manner that pinions, which are connected to the output-drive shaft of said units, engage with the central gearwheel. The motor units are driven individually and synchronously and are in each case intrinsically connected to an emergency power supply and input-drive electronics which receive control pulses from common control electronics so that a multi-torque drive is produced which causes a rotational and/or translational movement of the operating spindle. <IMAGE>
