A fabric lined journal bearing is made by wrapping around a mandrel 15 a piece of lowfriction fabric 16 whose length is substantially equal to the circumference of the mandrel and then wrapping a piece of bondable fabric 19 of length greater than the mandrel circumference around the low friction fabric, curing to hardness a material impregnated into the fabric, and removing the mandrel. The piece of low-friction fabric may be rectangular in shape or may be of parallelogram shape. The fabric may include fibrous PTFE. |
