This closure for a container of the bottle or box type, includes a cap 8 which consists of a lateral wall 10 and of an upper wall 9, which is fixed to mouth piece 4 by means of a hinge articulation 7 and with the possibility of bending over, and on which cap, facing the hinge articulation 7, on the upper surface of the mouth piece 4, a catching catch projection 20 which is directed upwards and outwards and which engages, in a detachable manner, with an inwardly directed counter-member 11 of the lateral wall 10 of the cap 8. The lateral wall 10 of the cap 8 is elastically deformable and can be deformed when two portions 10b, facing each other, are pressed radially in the direction of the catch. It is essential for the invention that a finger 40, which stands up vertically in order to limit the depth to which the portions 10b of the cap may be pushed, be respectively disposed on the upper surface of the mouth piece, in the vicinity of the two cap portions 10b.
