PURPOSE:To check the propriety of the operation of a decision circuit by inputting the same signal as one of a start signal and an end signal of emergency alarm broadcast reproduced by a reproducing device to an emergency alarm discrimination circuit of an emergency alarm broadcast reception equipment. CONSTITUTION:A recording medium on which the same signal as the start and end signals of the emergency alarm broadcast are recorded at a proper timer interval is loaded to the reproducing device 15 while a power switch 6 of the receiver 5 is turned off. When the same signal as the start signal of the emergency alarm broadcast is inputted to an emergency alarm broadcast discrimination circuit 9, the discrimination circuit 9 discriminates it as the start signal and changes over the 1st switch circuit 12 forcibly. Thus, the detection output signal is inputted to the discrimination circuit 9 by bypassing the 2nd switch circuit 13. When no broadcast signal is obtained between the start and the end signal, it is found out that the emergency alarm broadcast discrimination circuit 9 has a fault.
