PURPOSE:A hair tonic cosmetic, containing a fatty acid having an odd number of carbon chain length or a derivative thereof or aliphatic alcohol having an odd number of carbon chain length or a derivative thereof and vasodilator and capable of exhibiting remarkable hair growth promoting effect in a low concentration. CONSTITUTION:A hair tonic cosmetic containing 0.1-30wt% aliphatic alcohol having an odd number of carbon chain length, e.g. n-propyl alcohol or n- pentacosyl alcohol, or a derivative thereof, e.g. esterified or etherified material, or a fatty acid having an odd number of carbon chain length, e.g. propionic acid or pentacosanoic acid, or a derivative thereof, e.g. ester, salt or amide, and 0.01-2.0wt% vasodilator (hypotensive agent), e.g. isoxsuprine or diltiazem hydrochloride. This hair tonic cosmetic has both cell activating and vasodilator action and is capable of exhibiting improved hair production promoting action in a low concentration.
