<p>The invention relates to gymnastic and body building apparatuses used for athletic or therapeutic purposes, and more particularly to an isokinetic hand and foot exerciser with a large clearance operating in the contraction and extension modes. The exerciser is comprised of two arms (1 and 2) articulated about an axis (X-X) at one end, and each provided with a removable pivoting handle (3 and 4) at the other end, of which the pivoting axis is substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the arms. Between each arm (1) and (2), there is mounted a hydraulic damper (9). The damper brakes the separation and the bringing together of the two arms (1 and 2), which requires muscular energy, the braking being adjustable as desired by mechanical/magnetic means.</p> |
