SUPERCHARGED MULTIPLE CYLINDER INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE

PURPOSE:To improve the supercharging efficiency of an engine in which at least one of a plurality of cylinders is used for supercharging by constituting a captioned engine with the cooling water jacket for a cylinder for supercharging and another cooling water jacket for combustion cylinders separated. CONSTITUTION:The cooling water jacket 24 surrounding cylinders 2 and 4 and the cooling water jacket 25 surrounding a cylinder 3 are provided being separated by a separation plate 26 in forming cooling water jackets for a cylin der head 6 and/or a cylinder block 5 in an in-line three cylinder engine of which first and third cylinders 2 and 4 located on both sides are used for four cycle combustion cylinders and of which second cylinder 3 positioned at the center is for a two cycle cylinder for supercharging. And the cooling water cooled by a radiator 27 is supplied to each of the cooling water jackets 24 and 25 by a cooling water pump 28, while the cooling water discharged from each of the cooling water jackets 24 and 25 are returned to the radiator 27 after being collected by outlets 29.
