PURPOSE:To improve the workability of the titled plug by brazing a hollow holder formed at the tip end inner surface with an annular groove fitted at its inner part with a sheath heater by means of a coil shaped brazing material, the tip end of said hollow holder being directed upward and a sheath heater being fitted therein, in the manufacture of sheath type glow plug. CONSTITUTION:A sheath 14, resistors 11 and 12, an external connecting terminal 17 and a heat resisting insulating power 13 are assembled beforehand as a heater assembly 10. the sheath heater 10 directed upward is assembled within a hollow cylinder 15. The hollow heater 15 with the sheath heater directed upward is held by a holding part 32 of a high-frequency brazing unit 31 for the glow plug. Then, a coil-shaped brazing material 21 is loaded in the annular groove portion 20, and a lifting and lowering base 31 is lifted to support the holder 15 by a holding part 34. The brazing material 21 is melted by a high frequency coil 30 for brazing. By this constitution, finish working on the surface of a sheet becomes unnecessary, and the workability is improved.
