PURPOSE:To carry out uniform metal plating on an inorg. substance with satisfactory adhesion by dispersing the inorg. substance in a soln. contg. ions of a catalyst metal and a reaction assistant, irradiating light on the resulting dispersion liq. to deposit the catalyst metal on the surface of the inorg. substance by reduction and plating the surface with a metal by electroless plating. CONSTITUTION:The surface of an inorg. substance such as diamond, boron nitride, silicon nitride, silicon carbide, zirconium oxide, aluminum oxide or magnesium oxide is cleaned and activated. The inorg. substance is dispersed in a soln. contg. ions of a catalyst metal and a reaction assistant. In the 1st stage, light is irradiated on the resulting dispersion liq. to deposit the catalyst metal on the surface of the inorg. substance by reduction. In the 2nd stage, the surface of the inorg. substance having the deposited catalyst metal is plated with a metal by electroless plating to produce a metal plated inorg. substance. |
