PURPOSE:To obtain the titled compound in a granular state with good fluidity and ready handleability and automatic mechanization without scattering fine powder causing rash (contact dermatitis), irritancy to mucosae, etc., by adding a molten maleimide compound in a specific proportion to an aqueous solution of a surfactant. CONSTITUTION:A liquid maleimide compound is added to 1 0.01-2wt%. preferably 0.01-1wt% aqueous solution of a surfactant and solidified. The above- mentioned aqueous solution is at a temperature >=10 deg.C, preferably >=30 deg.C lower than the melting point of the maleimide compound to be used. The liquid maleimide compound is preferably added to the aqueous solution by a method for dripping. Sodium alkylbenzenesulfonates, etc., may be cited as the surfactant and N-cyclohexylmaleimide, etc., may be cited as the maleimide compound. The maleimide compound particularly having >=40 deg.C melting point may be used.
