PURPOSE:A cosmetic base suitable as a hair dressing agent, lotion, cream, etc., an oily material providing a light touch, readily soluble in an aqueous solution of ethanol, free from greasiness, containing a monoester of propylene glycol and 12-24C branched saturated fatty acid. CONSTITUTION:A cosmetic base containing a monoester most preferably propylene glyol monoisostearate) obtained by adding propylene glycol to 12-24C branched saturated fatty acid (e.g., isolauric acid, isomyristic acid, isostearic acid, 2-decyltetradecanoic acid, etc.,) in the presence of a catalyst. EFFECT:The titled base is a liquid of low viscous at normal temperature and readily emulsifiable in spite of being an oily material. |
