PURPOSE:To obtain a heatdevelopable color photosensitive material having superior preservation stability and giving a high density image with a high S/N by using a specified compound as the precursor of a developing agent. CONSTITUTION:The heatdevelopable color photosensitive material having photosensitive silver halide, a coupler bonding to the oxide of a developing agent, a hydrophilic binder and at least one kind of compound represented by the formula as the precursor of the developing agent on the support is heated in the presence of a base or a base generator. The used amount (mole) of the precursor is 0.1-10 times, preferably 0.2-3 times the total amount of silver coated to form the photosensitive layer. The base or the base generator may be previously incorporated into the photosensitive material or may be supplied from the outside at the time of the heatdevelopment. In the formula, each of R1-R4 is H, halogen or the like and A is hydroxyl, a group giving hydroxyl by the action of a nucleophilic reagent or the like. |
