Guide track for an orbital head for welding or cutting pipes, partic. pipes with a dia. more than 200 nm, consists of a metal strip on the underside which are elastically deformable tubes as spacers, fixed to the strip by bolts passing into the inside of the tubes and nuts on the inside of the tubes. Tubes are pref. of steel or a plastic with high deg. of elasticity. The strip ends are slanted to avoid interruption of guidance of the orbital head and the ends are bolted together.
