In the dust container (3) of this vacuum cleaner there is a dust receptacle (4) which is made in a very advantageous manner of flexible material which is, however, impermeable to air, in particular made of a plastic film. In order that this dust receptacle of little or no dimensional stability takes on the desired shape, it is pressed against support elements, in particular ribs (14), with the aid of negative pressure generated by the vacuum cleaner fan (2). For this purpose, the dust receptacle (4) is held in a sealing manner in the dust container (3), its edge (7) being clamped in between a sealing frame (8) and a counter-sealing element (9). A sealed-off space (11) is thus defined, which communicates pneumatically with the suction side (12) of the fan (2), for example via a hose- or pipe-line (13). In the flow path between the suction connection (18) of the vacuum cleaner and the suction side (12) of the fan (2) there is a filter (19) which is protected by a filter guard (21). <IMAGE>
