Process for preventing the detection and decoying of a thermal camera receiving the infra-red radiation (1) coming from a laser source and consisting in associating with the said camera a special detector (2 to 9) including a spectral analyzer (8,9) to detect the monochromatic sources of high luminance directed towards the camera and giving on the detector (7) a brief pulse signal, while the wide band natural sources corning from the scene give a signal that changes with time during the wide band scanning. The scanning of the camera is stopped as soon as this pulse signal is received even before it can provide a significant echo. The high power decoying pulses are detected by another special detector of the same type as the previous one but not having a spectral analyzer. Application to the protection of thermal cameras. |
