PURPOSE:To simplify the titled machine in structure and control, and to execute easily the continuous copying by providing original holding covers which are divided into two, converting separately the first and the second original placing parts of an original platen, and scanning and exposing alternately both the original placing parts. CONSTITUTION:The first original holding cover 231 is opened, the first original G is placed at a prescribed position on the first original placing part 221, and after closing the first original holding cover 231, a print key is depressed. Before starting this copying, an exposing device 13 is in a home position HP, and by operation of the print key, the exposing device 13 is in a home position HP, and by an operation of the print key, the exposing device 13 scans and exposes only the whole lower face of the first original placing part 221. While copying of the first original G is being executed, the second original holding cover 232 is opened, the second original G is placed at a prescribed position on the second original placing part 222, and the second original holding cover 232 is closed. When the scanning and exposure of the first original G is ended, the exposing device 13 scans and exposes continuously only the whole lower face of the second original placing part 222, and the second original G is copied.
