PURPOSE:To increase reactivity of active material and prevent earlier capacity drop by filling an active material containing antimony compound in an antimony alloy grid containing a specified amount or less of Sb to form a cathode plate for lead-acid battery. CONSTITUTION:Paste-like active material containing an antimony compound such as Sb2O3 is filled in an antimony alloy grid containing 1.6% or less antimony to make a cathode plate for lead-acid battery. By reducing antimony content in the grid, reactivity of active material is increased, relatively porous PbSO4 layer is formed, the electrical contact between the grid and the active material is well ensured, and rapid capacity drop is prevented. In the lead-acid battery whose antimony content is reduced, the reactivity of the active material is increased and the life of the battery is lengthened without decrease in electrolyte decrease performance. |
