PURPOSE:To make it possible to smoothly supply and take out a workpiece in a conveyer for speakers or the like, by providing a pair of movable sprockets upstream and downstream of stationary driven sprockets, and by providing a reverse rotation checking mechanism and wheels to the sprocket and a carrier vehicle, respectively. CONSTITUTION:In such a condition that a drive sprocket 3c is driven, when movable sprockets 7, 7a are moved in the same direction as that the conveying speed of a chain 1 toward positions as indicated by the two-dot chain line, the distance between sprockets 3c, 7 is increased by the feed length of the chain 1 in the section A, and therefore, the supply of the chain to the downstream side thereof is stopped. Meanwhile the chain 1 slacks by the same length in the B section, and is therefore conveyed in the direction (b). In this arrangement, since a reverse rotation checking mechanism which is not shown is provided to a sprocket 3a, the backward movement of the chain 1 is prevented. Further, a carrier vehicle runs on support guides 18 by means of wheels 12 so that its movement may be made to be smooth. With this arrangement it is possible to smoothly and surely convey a workpiece, and it is also possible to miniaturize a drive motor.
