PURPOSE:To prevent an automatic changer for microfilm cartridges from vibrating, and as well to prevent deflections of an image to be read and the blurring in concentration of the image, by interrupting all mechanical motions on the automatic changer side when the process of reading an image on a film frame is carried out. CONSTITUTION:A control circuit 10 controls the operation of several actuating mechanisms 11 to locate a given cartridge so that the cartridge is conveyed to and loaded on a cartridge loading section in a body. After completion of the loading, the microfilm cartridge automatic changer A side initiates the return conveyance of a used cartridge and the next search and issues a loading completion signal (b). In response to the signal (b) the control circuit 20 operates a film frame image locating mechanism 21a and an image reading mechanism 21b, successively. Further, in association with the issuance of an image reading instruction (e), the control circuit delivers an instruction for inhibiting the operation of the several actuating mechanisms 11 to a control circuit 10 on the changer A side, so that the operation is interrupted. Then, in association with the receiving of a read completion signal (f), the inhibiting instruction (g) to the control circuit 10 is released (h). With this arrangement it is possible to prevent vibration during image processing steps. |
