PURPOSE:To detect correctly a corrected line by comparing files in three steps consisting of the initial phase, an intermediate phase and the final phase. CONSTITUTION:In the initial phase, an equivalent unique character string between files A and B is searched and whether the front and back character strings of the searched character string are equal or not is determined. In the intermediate phase, the files A, B are divided into a block consisting of equivalent character strings and a block consisting of unequivalent character strings on the basis of the results in the initial phase, an equivalent unique character string is searched in the files A, B belonging to the block consisting of the unequivalent character strings and whether the front and back character strings of the searched character string are equal or not is determined. In the final phase, the compared result between the two files A, B is obtained by collecting the compared results obtained from the initial and intermediate phases. Consequently, the rate of recognition at the comparison of data between files having no updating career can be improved.
