PURPOSE:To easily and surely discriminate which MODEM is an object to be maintained by transferring line names individually assigned to plural MODEMs from a central processor to respective MODEMs and displaying the transferred line names in display parts previously allotted in respective MODEMs. CONSTITUTION:A precommunication processor 12 sends a line name data transmission request to a communication control equipment 13. The line name data are specified during a contact request from the central processor 11 and the communication control equipment 13 transfers the line name data to a MODEM 14. After ending the transfer of the line name data, the communication control equipment 13 requests the end of a maintenance test sequence and the MODEM 14 completes an end phase. Prior to the completion of the end phase, the MO DEM 14 sends the line name to a line name display part mechanism 23 to display the contents of the mechanism 23 to a line name display part 18.
