PURPOSE:To prevent both starting without lubrication and unconcentric bearing phenomenon, by using ceramics as a bearing material and also supporting a bearing periphery with an elastic material. CONSTITUTION:A submerged bearing consists of a submerged bearing 11 made of ceramics and elastic supporter 12, and the submerged bearing 11 and the elastic supporter 12 have plural number of axial grooves inside respectively. An unconcentric bearing phenomenon between the submerged bearing 11 and a submerged bearing portion sleeve 8 can be prevented from happening due to a deformation of the elastic supporter 12 caused by a deflection of a main shaft 1. Grooves of the submerged bearing 11 are provided to pass easily any foreign material such as slurry when it is introduced into the sliding portion.
