PURPOSE:To always obtain a uniform track width, even if there is a variance in the thickness size of a magnetic thin film, by constituting the titled head so that the track width can be obtained by the thickness of the magnetic thin film by inserting and holding the magnetic thin film between glass base materials. CONSTITUTION:Left and right junction bodies 4, 5 formed by bringing a ferrite layer 2 and a glass layer 3 to a surface junction are formed integrally by a low melting point glass 7 through an operating gap 6 consisting of a silicon oxide film, each magnetic thin film 8 inclined and placed while extending over the ferrite layer 2 and the glass layer 3 of each junction body, 4, 5 is opposed in the operating gap 6, and the opposed width of said each magnetic thin film 8 is set as a track width (t). According to such a constitution, at the time of cutting three parts of the magnetic thin films 8, and the glass base material 7 for inserting and holding them, by one plane, and executing its finish grinding, the track width (t) can be adjusted by adjusting its grinding angle, therefore, the uniform track width (t) can be obtained.
